1937 map of Beverly Hills – “Center of the Next Million”

Details

Attractive map of Beverly Hills with information on residences and businesses, published by the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by A. E. Hanson Company realtors and subdividers. The map features a color-coded map indicating commercial, residential, industrial, and recreational areas.

The verso features a sketch of the civic center and text boxes on a variety of topics. Two of our favorites fall under the heading TAXES, which notes the difference between phone rates east and west of La Cienega, and GROWTH, which states that since the end of World War I, Beverly Hills has grown from a village of 674 to over 30,000 residents.

Prepared by the Howard W. Newton company and printed by the Chancey-Citizen Company in Beverly Hills.
