Fine bird’s-eye-view of Walnut Creek, intended to promote local businesses. A text scroll gives a brief history of the city, from its inception in 1849, when William Slusher built a cabin on the corner of today’s Main St. and Mt. Diablo Blvd., to its incorporation in 1914.

Walnut Creek is a city in Contra Costa County, California, United States, located in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area, about 16 miles (26 km) east of the city of Oakland. The 1985 population given on the map is 56,400; as of 2019, its population as of 2019 is 69,122.
