This Texaco, Inc. chart provides maritime information for the entrance to the Golden Gate, San Francisco Bay, San Pablo Bay, and part of Suisun Bay. Its main purpose is to locate Texaco Waterfront Service Stations around the bays. Two of the more intriguing stations are Spenger Fishery in San Rafael, a long-time institution in Marin County, and Petersen’s Water Taxi at today’s Marina Green, which ran service between San Francisco and Sausalito.

Includes text and tables, and a note that reads: “This chart is not intended for navigation but solely as a guide for use in conjunction with the U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey charts covering the area.”

The Texas Company

The Texas Company is Texaco, Inc., an American oil subsidiary of Chevron Corporation; the name was changed in 1959.
