Professor Husayn ʿAbd Allāh Dhamārī (fl. 1971–1990), known in English as H. Althamary, is among the small number of indigenous Yemeni cartographers whose work survives from the post-colonial period. His name suggests origins in Dhamār, the historic city in the central Yemeni highlands. His principal output — produced between approximately 1971 and 1976 — includes The Yemen (first published in Egypt, 1972) and a companion map of Ṣanʿāʾ; both are of great rarity. He later produced a map of the unified Republic of Yemen, published in Ṣanʿāʾ after the 1990 unification.
