Description

Advertisement map published by the Northwestern Pacific Railroad designed to promote residents of San Francisco to visit Marin County (via the company railroad, of course).

Aimed especially at hikers, the map provides detail on hiking trails and the verso includes information on hiking clubs in Marin. Special fares for hikers are advertised. Round trip between San Francisco and Mill Valley is 48 cents. The map side includes photo vignettes of places to visit in Marin, including the Mt. Tamalpais observatory.

The verso has a lot of charming text, including the “Trampers’ Ten Commandments.” Please see image for more.

Condition Description

Very minor splits and toning at some of the original folds.
