Bureau of Current Affairs

The Bureau of Current Affairs was a product of the Army’s Bureau of Current Affairs (ABCA); an organization within the British Army established during World War II to allow British soldiers to learn about and discuss current affairs – especially as they related to international politics and post-World War reconstruction.

Following the end of the war, its director William Emrys Williams transformed the ABCA into the publicly-oriented Bureau of Current Affairs under the Carnegie Trust and moved its offices to Piccadilly in London.
